Cheese

The Hubs and I apologize for being off-radar for several weeks. We have been eating pizza, let me assure you, but we've been too busy with life to write about them. :( Some of the highlights include...

* enjoying Cabot Pizza with our family from NYC
* snacking on post-marathon pizza in Maine
* hitting up Dominos for our Wednesday night dinners in front of the TV

Something of note is that Dominos has an option to eat less cheese. When you order a pizza from Dominos you can opt for a "less cheese" pizza. Some of us (The Hubs) were a little unsure about checking that box, so we ordered two - one normal and one with less cheese. The consensus was that "less cheese" is the better option by far. It tasted yummy and the cheese was "more of a normal, mainstream amount," said The Hubs. The amount of cheese was similar to their former recipe but with improved sauce and crust and garlicy goodness, thus avoiding the cardboard effect. Overall, this "less cheese" option is a total win.

Where is my pizza?

Last night The Hubs and I ordered Dominos again. We're really into Dominos pizza these days. Not only because of the gooey cheese and seasoned crust, but also because of a miraculous creation - the pizza tracker. With a Dominos account you can order your pizza online and track your pizza's progress all the way from creation to being delivered to your door. It's pretty awesome. The Hubs and I enjoy seeing who exactly is preparing our pizza and noting who will be delivering it. Yes, the pizza tracker even tells you who is preparing, inspecting, and delivering your food!

The best part of the tracker is peace of mind. We no longer wonder about whether our online order went through and we have a clearer time frame about when it will be delivered. On one sad occasion, when The Hubs and I were waiting for our pizza, we noticed that the tracker claimed our pizza had been delivered! We quickly took action, calling Dominos to find out what was going on (delivery person couldn't find our apartment!), and the problem was quickly solved. The pizza tracker saved the day!

Here's an article by USA Today on the Tracker. Apparently it's been around for years. Who knew?

A Typical Wednesday Night

On Wednesday nights The Hubs and I typically order pizza and watch tv, specifically an old favorite, America's Next Top Model, and a new favorite, Hellcats. The Hubs and I have recently been ordering two medium cheese pizzas from Dominos and pairing them with some white wine. Yum! Quality food, wine, and television. What could be better?

The Wine
There was only a glass left of our current Trader Joe's favorite, Gaetano D'Aquino, a bargain Pinot Grigio at only $4. It tastes way better than Trader Joe's "Two Buck Chuck" and only costs a dollar more. Last time we were there we bought two bottles. Next time we'll have to get way more than that fo' sho. We opened another bottle of wine, Trader Joe's King Shag, a Sauv Blanc from New Zealand. It wasn't great. Shall not be buying that bottle again!

The Pizza
Dominos did not disappoint. The Hubs and I devoured almost all the pizza in one sitting. The cheese was gooey and just the right amount while the sauce had a nice tang. The crust on the first pizza was better than the second - we concluded that it was just in the oven for a few moments less than the other. The only downside of the pizza is that though Dominos has recently changed their pizzas to taste way better than before, they did this by adding seasoning to the crust. It's super tasty, but very messy as it leaves crumbs everywhere.

The Entertainment
Well, Tyra did not disappoint. She was awesome, as always. Totally love how she just practiced her catwalk, despite being "retired." She was also rocking pretty great hair at elimination. Hellcats was also quality tonight. The Hubs and I were both upset that the CW had a problem for a few minutes and we missed crucial Hellcats airtime. We're still not quite sure how it ended.

Not everyone was impressed with the entertainment. Meet Galina, our kitty. She slept through much of the drama on the CW.
